Reading the Operator’s Manual is vital to learn about the Dos and Don'ts when using the Hot Hold®. We have summarized some of the biggest mistakes and more important rules to follow to keep you and others around you safe. At Meister Cook, we put high value in safety in order to make a good example for our customers. The following what you need to know.
Safety Rules when Operating the Meister Cook Hot Hold®:
Read the Operator’s Manual. When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons. The following is only a selection of important safety rules outlined in the Operator’s Manual. This section does not substitute the reading of the entire Operator’s Manual.
Lifting the Hot Hold®: When lifting or moving the Meister Cook Hot Hold®, please ask others for help. The more than 60 lbs heavy Hot Hold® should always be lifted or moved by two people to avoid injuries.
Do Not Place Liquids On or Near Hot Hold®: This is to avoid spillage and potential electric shortage.
Do not Expose the Hot Hold® to Wet Conditions: Do not expose the Hot Hold®, including its cord and plug to water, splashing water or other liquids. Water or other liquids entering the Hot Hold® will increase the risk of electric shock.
Do not Overfill the Food Pans in the Hot Hold®: The food hold temperatures and times in the Hot Hold® were designed for properly filled food pans. Furthermore, overflowing food in food pans may disturb the warm airflow curtain above the food, especially for dry/crispy food. Overfilling food pans could also damage food and hurt its desirable appearance, creating a negative customer experience. By having food pans overflow, pieces of food may break off and enter the air intake of the Hot Hold®, reducing its operational lifetime.
Required Clearance of the Hot Hold®: To ensure proper operation, servicing, cleaning, and maintenance, the Hot Hold® must be installed with the following minimum clearances: 2” (5.1 cm) on back, 1” (2.5 cm) to the left and right of the Hot Hold®.
